In a pre-trial detention center in the Rostov region, the accused, who are being held in a cell, took two employees of the penal system (penal system) hostage. This was reported by the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) in Telegram.
“The accused, held in one of the cells of the pre-trial detention center No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Rostov region, took two employees of the penal system hostage,” the department said in a statement.
It is noted that the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation for the Rostov Region, Dmitry Bezrukikh, as well as representatives of interacting law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor’s office are at the scene of the incident. According to the statement, negotiations are currently underway for the release of the hostages. It is emphasized that the institution is operating as normal.
Earlier in Volgograd, law enforcement officers released five children who were taken hostage by their father and held in an apartment. A 13-year-old boy who was injured was hospitalized.
