Tarquinio embarrasses the Democratic Party: “We need to leave NATO”. The similarities with Vannacci in the League
Marco Tarquiniuscandidate for the European elections col PDand former director of L’Avvenire, in an interview with La7 embarrassed the Democrats: “It would be appropriate for Italy left NATO“. And then he further escalated the issue: “What would be needed is the dissolution of the Alliance, in the face of Ukraine’s hostile actions towards Russia carried out with Western weapons. If alliances serve to perpetuate wars then it is better to dissolve them.” His comment sounded – reports Il Foglio – like that of a Roberto Vannaccibut sided, casually, with the Democratic Party, and illuminated this strange phenomenon of the various political/electoral wild card granted by the parties to candidates to whom the role will be entrusted provocativein the hoping to catch a bit of curiosity.
“These are his ideas and maybe we don’t share thembut we are on the basic principles”, they then say from the League and the Democratic Party, when Vannacci or Tarquinio make too big a statement. Perhaps this has some perspective marginal electoral huntforeign to the official line of the party but – continues Il Foglio – conquerable thanks to the verve of the two free hitters. Who knows then, if elected, how we will find ourselves having to keep them in the parliamentary group, even if for someone who wants to dissolve NATO what do you want a bond with the Democratic Party to be.
