Sio Congress, La Mantia (Policlinico S. Marco): “IL-5 plays a central role in the genesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis”

“From the latest research, especially in the congress that is taking place these days in Bergamo, very important data have emerged on the genetic factors of interleukin 5. It follows, therefore, that interleukin 5 plays a central role in the genesis of this type of inflammation (CRSwNP)”, said Ignazio La Mantia, director of Otolaryngology of the University Hospital Policlinico – S. Marco, on the occasion of the 110th National Congress of the Italian Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery – SIO, in taking place in Bergamo from 22 to 25 May 2024, in the spaces of the Bergamo Fair, whose theme is “The Future in Listening”.
