Silent Hill Ascension It didn’t start off very well and the more hours that pass, the more new problems are reported. One of the biggest concerns the built-in chat moderation algorithm, which apparently doesn’t allow you to write the word Kojimaprobably due to the breakup between him and Konami, but he doesn’t censor it swear words and blasphemies various. Some actually do, but the detection is so weak that overcoming it is a real joke. Human moderation in itself seems very poor or even non-existent.
Naturally when users discovered this they self-moderated, flooding the chat of any offensive word known to mankind, aimed at underlining the lack of appreciation for the work (which in itself doesn’t seem to be that great, as we wrote in our dedicated special).
For example, user CUMSLUT wrote: “I vote for Pyramid Head to appear with a big clapper.” User Palescent instead said: “Bro, who cares. She was a woke.” Weatherby let us know that she was wearing her James Sunderland “cock ring” and others gave their colorful opinions and let others know.
Needless to say, the chat has been deactivated, probably to strengthen the moderation algorithm. A defeat for a game that has made sociality its strong point (users vote for the twists in the plot).
Some paid content included in the package is also highly discussed season pass of Silent Hill Ascension. In particular the “It’s Trauma” emote, which was considered completely out of place for the series.
In fact, it doesn’t really suit the dark atmosphere of Silent Hill…
In short, as a project to bring Konami’s series back to the general public, Silent Hill Ascension didn’t start off exactly well, but it has ample room for improvement… hopefully.
