German Chancellor Scholz said that the conflict in Ukraine will last for a long time
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz suggested how long the conflict in Ukraine will last. His words lead TASS.
At a meeting with fellow citizens in Cottbus, federal state of Brandenburg, Scholz predicted the duration of the conflict in Ukraine and noted that the state of crisis in the country would continue.
“We have to fear that this will continue for a long time, although we, of course, wish it were different every day,” he said.
The chancellor added that, in his opinion, the production of weapons and ammunition should be made permanent.
Earlier, Scholz spoke about telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stressed that during the year he had many long conversations with the Russian leader. Scholz also promised to continue seeking dialogue with Putin on the situation in Ukraine. In his opinion, this must be done even if the time for negotiations has not come.
