In addition to the late queen’s name, the names and years of life of her husband Philip and her parents are engraved on the tombstone. The plaque is located in the chapel at Windsor Castle.

The plaque also bears the insignia of the Order of the Garter, as the buried royals were all members of it.

The public can see the plaque from Thursday, when the chapel opens its doors.

The British royal family is observing a period of mourning that lasts seven days and ends on Monday.
