The Palestinian Red Crescent Society documented, through its official account on the Say them.
Shadi described the feeling of hugging his daughter after an absence as “indescribable,” noting: “I have lived through many wars and conflicts, but what is happening in Gaza is unprecedented.”
Shadi is considered one of 94 paramedics working for the Palestinian Red Crescent in the Gaza Strip, who have been facing great difficulties on the ground since Israel declared war on the Strip on October 7, according to Abdel Jalil Hanjal, spokesman for the Palestinian Red Crescent.
In his interview with Sky News Arabia, Abdel Jalil describes the work of the Palestinian Red Crescent members and the sacrifices they make as “legendary work that does not stop,” stressing that over the past days, the ambulance crew members have shouldered the task of saving lives, amid an atmosphere of war that could… They lose their lives.
The Palestinian Red Crescent spokesman continued: “Communications have been cut off significantly in recent days, and we are losing contact with our medical teams, a large number of whom insisted on continuing their work, refusing to return to their homes until the war ends, no matter what the cost.”
The Palestinian Red Crescent provided great services, which Abdel Jalil says:
Relief services were provided to more than 379,000 beneficiaries.
Psychological support was provided to approximately 21,000 beneficiaries.
We have 24 ambulances operating in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Red Crescent employs 185 volunteers.
A number of violations occurred against members of the Palestinian Red Crescent, where 4 were killed and 24 others were injured.
– About 12 vehicles were out of service, out of 27 vehicles that were attacked.
– 5 buildings were directly targeted, and Al-Quds Hospital was besieged, causing it to be completely out of service.
The spokesman for the Palestinian Red Crescent believes that the siege imposed by Israeli tanks hinders the work of ambulances and saving lives, noting that the situation in the Gaza Strip is very difficult from a health standpoint, with hospitals out of work.
In his interview with Sky News Arabia, Abdel Jalil added that there is constant communication between the Palestinian Red Crescent, the International Red Cross, the United Nations, and the majority of international organizations and major bodies, in order to provide medical services in the besieged Gaza Strip.
