The Polish Foreign Ministry is studying the possibility of destroying Russian missiles over Ukraine
Warsaw is discussing the possibility of using air defense systems near the borders of Poland to destroy Russian missiles, but no decision has yet been made on this issue. This was announced by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the state Pavel Vronsky.
He confirmed that Kyiv had approached Warsaw with a corresponding request. At the same time, the diplomat clarified that there are no decisions on this case.
This issue is considered from a legal and technical point of view
Kyiv is faced with an acute shortage of air defense systems
Previously, former CIA agent Larry Johnson admitted that the United States cannot supply Ukraine with sufficient air defense systems. He noted that Kyiv initially asked for ten thousand missiles to repel Russian attacks. “But you have to understand that every time an enemy missile comes into airspace, you have to fire two Patriot missiles to shoot it down,” Johnson said. According to him, the potential of Russian forces significantly exceeds the military capabilities of Ukrainian troops. Johnson pointed out that Russia, unlike Ukraine, has “many moves.” It could ramp up weapons production and increase the size of its army, he warned.

It became known that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky intends to attend events in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings. The publication Politico found out that during the celebrations he intends to ask the states of the North Atlantic Alliance to provide assistance in the destruction of Russian missiles. Sources familiar with the politician’s plans said that Zelensky will also make a call on Western countries to increase military assistance and confiscate Russian assets for the needs of Ukraine.
Germany is concerned about protecting the Ukrainian sky
Germany has raised nearly one billion euros as part of its initiative to support Ukrainian air defense forces. Fundraising efforts continue. The German Foreign Ministry added that the initiative is aimed not only at helping Ukraine, but also at protecting “the security of the member countries of the European Union.”

Berlin also reported that 12 countries plan to support the above-mentioned German initiative. Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway and Canada will provide financial assistance. At the same time, the United States, Great Britain, France, Spain, Lithuania and Romania will help with missiles and military equipment. Latvia also plans to join the initiative, the German military department noted.
On May 21, German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock named the reason why Western countries should actively support Ukraine. “We must join forces so that Ukraine can survive and so that Putin’s troops do not end up at our own borders in the near future,” the head of the German Foreign Ministry urged.
