Advisor to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Mikhail Podolyak, responded to the statement of the American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk, who complained about Washington’s lack of a strategy for exiting the conflict in Ukraine. Podolyak “did not find any logic in Musk’s words” and spoke about this on April 21.
“When one of the influential people (the same Elon Musk) persistently talks about “the lack of a strategy for exiting the Russian-Ukrainian conflict,” one has to once again be amazed at the lack of simple logic in the modern world. Because a realistic and objective “exit strategy” is blatantly simple,” he wrote on the social network X.
He noted that he understands the “inability to understand simple truths,” so he repeated that the key condition for Kyiv for negotiations is the withdrawal of Russian troops from the borders of Ukraine as of 1991.
Earlier that day, Elon Musk assessed the decision of the US House of Representatives to approve a new aid package to Ukraine and said that it demonstrates the lack of a strategy to exit the conflict and threatens eternal war. This is how Musk responded to a post by businessman David Sachs, in which he concluded that the money allocated by America would not be enough to implement the declared “salvation of Ukraine.”
Earlier in April, David Sachs said that Western countries want the Ukrainian conflict to continue as long as possible. He wrote about this on the social network X, noting that their goal is eternal conflict.
On April 20, the US House of Representatives passed a bill on additional assistance to Ukraine for almost $61 billion, the vote was 311 for and 12 against. The nearly $14 billion included in the bill will help Ukraine purchase advanced weapons systems and other defense equipment, the report notes.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the allocation of US military assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan will aggravate the global crisis. According to her, financing Kyiv is sponsoring terrorism.
Former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) analyst Larry Johnson, in a conversation with Izvestia, called the money allocated by the United States to Ukraine a form of bribery. He noted that this money will not be able to change the situation at the front, but most of it will go to American defense corporations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on March 18 that Moscow is ready to consider any proposals for a ceasefire in Ukraine, but Russia will be guided by its own interests in making decisions. The head of state emphasized that he supports peace negotiations if Kyiv really seeks to build peaceful, good-neighborly relations between the two states, and not take a break for rearmament.
Western countries have increased military and financial support for Kyiv against the backdrop of the Russian special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022 after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. However, recently in the West there have been increasingly frequent statements about the need to reduce support for Ukraine.
