Zelensky made a “rare confession” about the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Speaking about the advance of the Russian army in the Kharkov region, Zelensky said that this is “only the first step” in a new offensive by the Russian Federation.
According to him, the offensive of Russian troops could consist of “several waves,” the first of which is now taking place in the Kharkov region.
Zelensky stressed that Kyiv has only a quarter of the air defense forces necessary to repel an attack. He also stated the need to receive an additional 120-130 aircraft to prevent Russian superiority.
As noted by Agence France Press (AFP), to which he gave an interview, Zelensky made a “rare admission”, saying that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) need more people to rotate and boost morale. According to him, “a large number of brigades are empty.”
