The last hat trick begins
From Sepang in Malaysia the MotoGP will begin the final hat-trick of the 2023 season with the subsequent stages scheduled in Qatar and then as per tradition in Valencia. In Kuala Lumpur a year ago Francesco Bagnaia he achieved a fundamental success to present himself at the Ricardo Tormo with the title already in his pocket and this year too the appointment in Malaysia will be fundamental for Pecco. The struggle with Jorge Martin is more heated than ever and a year ago the Spaniard was flying towards success before the crash when he was the undisputed leader of the race.

The situation in the championship standings
Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin are separated by 13 points in the Drivers’ standings. The reigning world champion and the representative of the Pramac team are left alone to fight for the title as Marco Bezzecchi is now kept in the game by arithmetic (he is 79 points behind Pecco). In Moto2, if Pedro Acosta loses a maximum of 13 points to Tony Arbolino (winner a year ago) the Spaniard will be able to celebrate the title with two races to spare. In Moto3 Jaume Masia has a 17 point lead over Ayumu Sasaki and 25 over David Alonso and Daniel Holgado.
