President of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture says that the evolution of the sector is constant and independent of the government
The president of the FPA (Agricultural Parliamentary Front), Pedro Lupion (PP-PR), countered the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), which charged a “quality leap” in agribusiness.
For the sector leader, Brazilian agriculture has already given and continues to give this “jump” cited by the president. Lupion stated that the sector is the most technological in the world.
“Brazilian agriculture constantly breaks records precisely because it is the most technological in the world. Productivity grows year after year because we are constantly researching and reviewing our techniques to improve our product”said the congressman.
Lupion cited cotton produced in the country as an example. He said that it is possible to trace the origin of any and all Brazilian clothing.
“This is all done by the sector without help from the government. We are always looking for more technology and expanding the added value of production”declared the president of the FPA.
WHAT LULA SAID
Lula said this Wednesday (March 13, 2024) that Brazilian agribusiness still needs a “quality leap”. The president defended the export of commodities because there is technology involved in production and said that Brazil will be “unbeatable” in the energy transition process that countries are going through.
The Chief Executive participated in the inauguration of the 1st new fertilizer factory, in Serra do Salitre (MG), since the implementation of the National Fertilizer Plan, launched in March 2022, still under the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The project is the result of an investment of US$1 billion from EuroChem, a global giant in the sector of Russian origin and headquartered in Switzerland.
Regarding fertilizer production in the country, Lupion said it is important that the government itself does not impede the evolution of the sector. There are environmental groups who claim that producing fertilizers would be harmful to the environment.
