They were on Saturday (June 8) with Jader Filho (Cities) and Paulo Pimenta (Reconstruction of RS) to discuss the construction of houses
The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and First Lady Janja da Silva received ministers, on Saturday (June 8, 2024), at Palácio da Alvorada to discuss ways to speed up the construction of houses for those affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.
The long meeting started in the morning and lasted until around 3pm. In addition to the president and the first lady, the minister of Cities, Jader Filho, and the extraordinary minister of reconstruction of Rio Grande do Sul, Paulo Pimenta.
During the meeting, according to the Power360the ministers showed the results of the federal government’s actions in the areas affected by the floods.
Minister Jader would have presented how many property registrations had already been made on the government platform that will buy new or used homes to give them to those who lost their home in the State.
The main topic, however, was the discussion of how the government will do to speed up the construction of new housing projects for the State. The idea is that the purchase of properties will not be enough to restore demand.
Lula would have ordered the ministers to study in more depth some of the possibilities presented, which are still under secrecy. The Executive wants to have legal security in the form it chooses and works to combine this with the speed necessary to serve the people of Rio Grande do Sul.
On Saturday (June 8), Caixa Econômica Federal began registering properties ready to be purchased by the federal government and donated to families affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. The residences will be purchased for a maximum of R$200,000.
During the meeting, Lula heard that until that moment there were already 2,500 properties registered on the Caixa platform.
Those interested in selling properties ready for this purpose can register the units on site, to which all documentation must be attached. Before approval, Caixa must carry out a physical assessment of the locations.
The residences will be intended for families in bands 1 and 2 of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program, with a monthly income of up to R$4,400. Beneficiaries must be selected by local authorities.
This is the first time that the program will acquire ready-made properties. With the measure, the government seeks to speed up assistance to displaced families. The operation was made possible through an ordinance published by the Ministry of Cities on Thursday (June 5).
