Luis Diaz and the children
Last April, Colombian children celebrated the arrival of the striker of the national team to the flagship program of the sports portfolio, Sports Schools for All – EsDeporte, the most ambitious social and sports tool in the entity’s history.
Initially, the alliance would allow the operation of eleven schools, for 550 girls
and children between six and twelve years of age from the municipalities of Barrancas and Fonseca; however, thanks to the community’s welcome, the commitment of Minister Herrera as the main manager of the program, and the enthusiasm and support of the Luis Díaz Foundation, these figures increased.
In total there will be 16 training spaces distributed between the municipal seat of Barrancas, the villages of Carretalito, Guayacanal and the neighboring municipalities of Fonseca and Hatonuevo.
The expansion of the alliance with the Luis Díaz Foundation ratifies the important role of the ambassadors of the Sports Schools for All. Figures such as Dávinson Sánchez, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Falcao García, Yerry Mina, Nairo Quintana, Luis Javier Mosquera, Moisés Fuentes and the foundation of ‘Profe’ Gabriel Ochoa, are already part of the program that transforms the lives of more than 33 thousand Colombian children .
“For me it is a pride to know that each child, each young person follows me, I am very happy to
represent them in this way that I am doing it at an international level, I promise that I will give much more than what I am giving today, as always forward from the hand of God (…) I will continue, I will continue fighting for great things, for great moments , for representing La Guajira well, the entire department,” said Díaz.
