Sweden’s Loreen is one of only two artists to have won Eurovision twice. The first, in 2012, was with Euphoria, a song that ended up being more than popular. The second, this year with the theme Tattoo. The singer, who is currently in Spain, may also win her first award this year at the LOS40 Music Awards Santander, awards that will be presented this Friday in Madrid, in a gala that will be broadcast by LOS40 and the Divinity television channel, starting at six in the afternoon. The artist will perform on this stage, defending three nominations, as a prelude to a tour that will begin in a few weeks and will take her to the large stadiums of European cities.
If there is something characteristic about Loreen, apart from her music, it is her stylish and long nails. As soon as the telephone interview begins, she comments that she must put it on speaker, since she cannot hold her cell phone. Loreen responds during a break from rehearsals, at the WiZink Center in Madrid, for her performance at the gala this Friday. Rosalía has appeared on the LOS40 stage in other editions, for whom the artist confesses her admiration. She also does it for Blanca Paloma, who represented Spain in this edition of Eurovision.
Winning Eurovision twice has meant a professional change in the singer’s career. She admits to seeing it “as a gift.” She is proud of this achievement, which only one other artist in the history of the competition has achieved, the Irishman Johnny Logan, in 1980 and 1987. She explains that in the performance she focused on projecting love to her audience, but how is it done? that? “There is only one very simple, but very important, key: that is to tell your truth, to be real,” she responds.
The artist’s goal in her career is just that: “To create a special bond with the public.” To achieve this, she has no problem living on tour, sleeping on a bus or spending hours at the airport. She describes herself as a nomad. The first stop of the tour is on November 7 in Ireland, and for now it has not set a date in Spain, so LOS40 Music Awards Santander may be the only opportunity to see it.
His latest single, It is love, has been very well received, which was a surprise for Loreen, who claims to have not had high expectations. However, she feels grateful: “The people have been very beautiful and it is wonderful to see what it makes them feel, how they sing and dance to it.” The singer is working on her new album where there will be no shortage of love lyrics, and in which she will show both her vulnerable and powerful sides: “I feel represented by both sides.”
