Finance group CEO of Lähi-Tapiola Juha Koponen is leaving his position, the company says in its press release.
According to the release, Koponen will leave his position at the end of June and will act as an advisor to Lähi-Tapiola Group until the end of this year. According to the release, Koponen is leaving his position on his own decision.
“Lähi-Tapiola has consistently grown, developed and promoted its digital capabilities and responsibility work in particular. I am proud of these achievements. For me, now is the right moment to move on and give time to other areas of life as well”, says Koponen in the press release.
Koponen started as CEO of Lähi-Tapiola in 2020. Before that, he served as CEO of Veikkaus, among other things.
Near Tapiola Chairman of the mutual non-life company’s supervisory board and chairman of the cooperation committee Anssi Keinänen in the press release, Kopo is thanked for his work “at a time of exceptionally large operating environment changes”. For example, the coronavirus pandemic and the war of aggression started by Russia in Ukraine coincided with his term as CEO.
“Under Koponen’s leadership, Lähi-Tapiola has grown as a life insurance company and as a group has already succeeded in offering almost 1.8 million customers security in the fields of health, investment and assets, while extensive system reforms have been carried forward in the company. The company has a stable position in the market. Juha Koposen’s decision to retire from his position leaves the future CEO with a strong and developing group,” says Keinänen in his press release.
The company says it will start the application process for a new CEO in June.
The operational duties of the CEO of Lähi-Tapiola are temporarily handled by the business director of the group Pekka Antikainenthe release states.
