Saturday in Beijing: historic bronze medal for skeleton star Kimberley Bos
On the eighth day of the Olympics, skeleton star Kimberley Bos won a historic medal. Never before has the Netherlands won a medal in a sledding sport. She finished third and won bronze. The Dutch skaters also qualified for the semi-finals in the team pursuit section.

Karlien Sleper sixteenth at monobob
Karlien Sleper finished sixteenth in the monobob on Sunday. It is the first time that the women’s event will be held at the Olympics. A total of twenty participants took part in the race.
Sleper needed 1.05.88 to complete the race. These Games, the Dutch was not counted among the favorites, but her sixteenth place will feel like a disappointment: in the training sessions prior to the competition, the 29-year-old athlete did better every time.
Kaillie Humphries wrote the fastest time to her name. The American previously played for Canada, with which she won two Olympic golds, but switched to Team USA.
