A satellite telephone number, active 24 hours a day and to call in case of emergency, should communications fail. The request to register on the site ‘dovesiamonelmondo.it’, in order to be tracked and to receive useful information in case of emergency. These are the indications that the Italian embassy has given to our compatriots who live in Kharkiv, in Ukraine about thirty kilometers from the border with Russia, as Salvatore Leo, chef of Osteria Il Tartufo, told Adnkronos. Originally from Salerno and in Ukraine for 13 years, Leo spoke of ” a very friendly meeting ” with the staff of the Italian embassy at the Palace hotel in Kharkiv, where ” we are ten Italians living here ”.
” They wanted to see for themselves who we are, how we are, how many we are. Everyone was very kind, it’s important to know that the embassy cares about us, ” she says. ” They told us not to worry, no one knows if something will happen and when, no one really knows what the Russians want ”, continues Leo, who says: ” for the moment I am calm ”. But then he adds: ” if something should happen, you won’t even have time to say ‘a’, let’s hope for the best ”.
In the meantime, the chef from Salerno continues, the staff of the Italian embassy in Kiev provided Italians in Kharkiv ” with a number of a satellite mobile phone active 24 hours a day to call in case of emergency, in case they had to skip the Internet and communications. They then reminded us that it is important to register on the ‘dovesiamonelmondo.it’ website so that they can find us if something happens ”.
Finally, Leo underlines that ” war is not just about weapons and tanks. Nobody knows what the Russians have in mind, but the war is also political, in gas, in rising prices. And here Russia is already winning, it is earning more ”.
