About three days after Sandra Cuevasmayor of Cuauhtemocreported not having access to the investigation file against him, the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) assured that the case is not yet in the stage of being released.
Through a statement the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office He stated that up to now he has not yet citationsinterviews or any arrest warrant related to the alleged attack by the mayor and other Cuauhtémoc officials against two police officers, which would give her and her lawyer the right to have access to the investigation file.
“The accused and his defense attorney may have access to [los registros de investigación] when he is detained, is summoned to appear as a defendant or is the subject of an act of nuisance and it is intended to receive his interview, from this moment on the records for the defendant or his defense attorney may no longer be kept in reserve in order not to affect their right to defense”, said the FGJCDMX, which reads the National Code of Criminal Procedures (CNPP).
Likewise, the capital institution pointed out that it will also be the one who decides whether or not to summon the member of the Union of Mayors of Mexico City (UNACDMX), which will define until the case has been assembled.
While he assured that until now neither Cuevas nor the other officials of the Mayor’s Office supposedly involved in the illegal deprivation of liberty of the two policemen have proven their legal personality, with which they could be defended and face the case, if would, against him.
About the case
According to the FGJCDMX at the beginning of the month, the mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Sandra Cuevas, and some members of her cabinet verbally and physically assaulted two police officers in a discussion about street vendors in the downtown area of the city.
