Lately there has been a lot of rumors about a possible Iron Man in development by a team of Electronic Arts, which would mark the return of Tony Stark in the videogame field after the not so lucky chapters released so far. To our surprise, however, we now know that another work of this type was in development at Avalanche Studios.
In an interview with MinnMaxthe co-founder of the team Christofer Sundbergtold several anecdotes about different works, including Just Cause, Mad Max and several canceled titles, including Iron Man. The development lasted two years before the veto of Disney and Marvel put an end to the works and it would have been about an open world in which to move freely around the map.
Given the Just Cause, there was plenty of material from which to draw inspiration and being able to imagine the deeds, Tony Stark would have had a lot of fun, also because it would have been possible to interact with other characters who, however, were not specified.
This is part of the industry’s many hidden stories that only come out in due course. Who knows what else was in development and canceled without us knowing anything about it.
