Dubai Police arrested an Asian fraudster who defrauded 25 people wishing to work and obtained sums of money from them and then disappeared. He was referred to the Public Prosecution and from there to the Criminal Court, which sentenced him to three years in prison and a fine of 32,000 dirhams.
The incident, according to the case papers, revolves around the fraudster coming from his country to reside in the country to practice fraud, and he established a company for guard services, and chose a category of Africans wishing to work in the field of personal security and decided to defraud them.
According to the investigations of the Public Prosecution Office in Dubai, the accused reinforced his allegations by taking a headquarters for the fictitious company, and including two well-intentioned female employees, of the nationality of the victims, who did not know his intention or planning, and the warning stressed to them that whoever does not pay the prescribed amount is not issued to him a work contract or appointed, and he was able to lure 25 men seized 32,000 dirhams, and then fled.
For their part, the victims filed complaints against the accused with the police, who were tracked down and arrested, and it was proven through investigations that the commercial license of the alleged company was personally owned by him and he was writing receipts in its name to the victims.
One of the victims stated that he saw an advertisement on an electronic marketing website for a security company, so he contacted her and expressed interest in hiring him and she gave him an interview on the same day. He went to the company’s headquarters and left his papers and paid 1,500 dirhams as a guarantee for work. The employee gave him an invoice and asked him to go to another emirate to receive the work there. And when he turned up on time, he discovered that he was the victim of a scam.
For its part, after examining the case, the court ruled that the accused be imprisoned for three years and fined the money he had seized from the victims.
