The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced the transfer of all systems and services from the Ministry’s main data center to the cloud environment of the Federal Network of the Communications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (FEDnet), making it the first federal entity to completely move to the Authority’s cloud computing services, in line with its strategic plan in Digital transformation and adoption of new technologies. The Ministry is the largest government entity in terms of business, the number of daily transactions, and the number of resources hosted in the Communications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, as more than 300 servers were transferred from the Ministry’s data center to “FEDnet”, with the aim of moving to a new operating model that keeps pace with the latest technologies in cloud computing. It achieves the strategic digital government objectives, and the main goal of the UAE government’s vision of fully transitioning to the federal cloud, which enhances the ministry’s competitiveness and supports its efforts to provide efficient and high-quality services to customers.
His Excellency Mohammed Saqr Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services at the Ministry, said: “The capabilities and solutions provided by the cloud environment enhance the Ministry’s competitiveness in the efficiency of providing institutional services, by taking advantage of the modern digital infrastructure and advanced technologies resulting from the use of the cloud environment, and support its efforts in digital transformation in services. And keeping pace with the strategic directions of the digital government and efforts to zero out bureaucracy.”
He explained that “the expansion of the Ministry’s digital and electronic services and the economic growth witnessed by the country have increased the requirements for developing the technological environment and providing more efficient, fast and secure digital solutions to serve the increasing numbers of customers dealing with the Ministry’s digital services, whose number has reached more than three million and 300 thousand customers. And 20 million digital transactions during the past year, in addition to the ministry’s data center receiving about 51 million communication transactions, and the increasing importance this imposes on the reality of information security.”
For his part, Engineer Mohammed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Deputy Director General of the Communications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, stressed that “the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s accession to the federal cloud managed by the Authority embodies the joint cooperation between the two parties, in line with the “We Are the Emirates 2031 Vision” by working to coordinate efforts to establish “The most pioneering and superior system in the country.”
Al-Zarouni said: “We appreciate the ministry’s keenness to be at the forefront of the entities joining the federal cloud, and we stress the importance of this step as it is an important station on the path to integration and interconnection, which contributes to achieving the principle of comprehensive government, in accordance with the highest standards of security and business continuity, and in a way that is reflected in the overall performance of the delivery systems.” Services to the customer audience.
