- Music lover, passionate about the human voice, delivers to operatic perfection!
Since 2009, the city of portals, Álamos, Sonora was delighted with the Guest Conductor of the Sonora Philharmonic Orchestra, Mtro. Enrique Patrón de Rueda, during those evenings in the colonial mystic palace, which is the venue for the gala concerts of the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival, where I remember that he conducted the Mezzosoprano Encarnación Vázquez, with a concert that made us vibrate and appreciate the voice human that emerges from the depths, the song of the desolate and inconsolable soul that lives to transcend, and love yearns to free itself from this world and soar in the blue of the sky.
Those of us who were there at that time enjoyed every note, where for the first time the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival delighted us with the great director located in one of the most prominent places in the artistic and cultural life of Mexico, for his brilliant professional activity in Mexico and in the foreigner with deep knowledge of the opera that has earned him to be considered the best director of this genre in our country.
To reflect on opera in Mexico, it is vital to refer to the Mtro. Patron de Rueda, who is a lyrical orchestra director, passionate about the human voice, dedicated to operatic perfection, is undoubtedly a great concertor in our country who has broken stones to open paths for Mexican talents, he is an artist with passion and nationalism that has contributed to the development of opera, with political and cultural adversities.
Enrique Patrón de Rueda began his training process in music from a young age in his native Mazatlán, Sinaloa, to later move to Mexico City. He studied the career of Lic. in Administration at ITAM, for this, he could not put aside the music that was his vocation, the reason for his existence, that is why he decided to study Music at the same time.
However, until he finished his studies in administration at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and a postgraduate degree in Industrial Psychology, his father let him formally enter the National Conservatory of Music.
The vocation and love of music was like a ray of light that day by day illuminated his path of sensitivity and artistry, which is why both found themselves trapping each other to never abandon each other.
I tell you that the great concertmaster does not come from a family of artists in music, he suddenly came into the hands of the Mtro. Wheel Pattern a recording of “La Boheme”, he loved it! His parents thought he was going crazy and wanted to send him to a psychiatrist, but from then on they couldn’t stop him.
The family had a hard time accepting the great vocation of the artist towards music.
It was with his struggle, talent and transcendence that he convinced his parents, music is his job, his great passion, he also lives convinced that it is a large dose of vitamin for the human soul, without a doubt he is very proud to have “ crushed stone” in Sinaloa.
Now there is a great taste for opera, music and arts in general, the stages of his training are the National Conservatory of Music, the London Opera Center, the Royal Academic of Music and Morley College. Your guides Tito Gobbi, Reri Grist, Sir Geraint Evans.
The ideals of Patron de Rueda consist of a calm, just and peaceful world. Injustice and abuses reveal it.
He lives convinced that a country that sings, dances and has access to the arts is a better country. The worst misery of the human being is spiritual. And in this, art is the food for the soul that allows the individual to prosper and live in peace.
To have access to cultured music is a matter of opportunity, it is not a matter of the elite, all humans can be addicted to “the good”, the only thing missing is that opportunity! That is why cultural diversification, dissemination and of course, are necessary; more budget support.
Our governments continue to think that culture is expensive and adornment.
More festivals are missing that bring all the expressions of art to the public.
People who live with art discover a new possibility and hope in art.
Puccini is the composer with whom he has most identified and María Callas is operatic perfection, with that appreciation he has discovered in his career that in all the orchestras he has directed he discovers something in them that makes him fall in love and if not, it is better to withdraw.
Its main conviction is to discover talents and prepare them for a professional life, with a philosophy where work and discipline guide the training of its students with enormous respect for what they do, promoting the teaching of all the human factors essential for be successful and gain the respect of the public of the country.
Carrying out a social and political inventory of the national opera scene allows us to reflect on the need for educated, sensitive rulers who truly support culture with conviction and not as a political campaign promise, since in Mexico we have many singers who are eager for a opportunity and few scenarios.
He is convinced that in the northern states there are great voices of very different tessituras from those of central Mexico.
We could be on the front pages of the world’s newspapers for its artists, and not only for the massacres of organized crime in Sinaloa and the other states of Mexico.
He worked hard in his school of vocal and operatic perfection in Mazatlán Sinaloa, he has contributed to the development of Sinaloa for the taste of opera, also in 2012, Sinaloa was the guest state at the Cervantino Festival with a great show directed by the Mtro . Patron de Rueda giving the best face of the State “The Artistic”.
I remember that in 2014, through his proposals as a director of the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival, we were able to enjoy the complete opera “El Elixir de Amor” by Gaetano Donizetti.
On September 9, at the Puebla Metropolitan Theater, the Mexican tenors Javier Camarena, Ramón Vargas, and Fernando de la Mora, accompanied by the Puebla Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mtro Enrique Patrón de Rueda, offered a concert with a varied repertoire of our Mexican music with great authors such as Agustín Lara, Consuelito Velázquez and Juan Gabriel.
Without a doubt, the state of Puebla has the infrastructure to offer these great concerts, the Metropolitan Auditorium, is one of the best venues for concerts in the region, in an environment of modern Puebla which undoubtedly left an economic spill very important to benefit the state.
He is a great artist who belongs to us, Norteño! I am infinitely grateful for your space for allowing me to dialogue with you to broaden my cultural horizons, and to be able to be a Cultural Omnivore, Thank you for your humility!
Musical Angel you caress my heart with delight,
I can never say goodbye!
To my garments you caress in desire impregnated in aromas,
just as you await my body with stamped desire,
At your side you attract me, in feverish Opera of my passions
