The federal government released this Tuesday (June 18, 2024) more than R$ 17.5 billion in extraordinary credit for recovery actions in Rio Grande do Sul. The resources are to help affected companies and the contracting of housing for families who lost their homes in the floods that devastated the state last month.
With this measure, the amount of resources released so far to support the state reaches R$90.9 billion, informed the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
According to the MP (provisional measure), published this Tuesday (June 18), R$ 15 billion will be allocated to support companies, which will be able to hire services, buy machines, finance works, such as civil construction, and for capital emergency turnaround.
Another R$2.18 billion is to subsidize 12,000 homes, 10,000 of which are in urban areas, with an average value of R$200,000, and 2,000 are rural (R$90,000). Read the complete of the document (PDF – 220 kB).
More than R$407 million goes towards equalizing interest on rural credit and new financing (R$201.8 million), project structuring (R$200 million) and R$6 million for the operation of the Canoas Air Base (RS), which started to receive commercial flights due to the closure of Porto Alegre Airport (RS), which is flooded and has no date for reopening.
