German police began Tuesday to dismantle barricades and discourage environmentalists who were demonstrating in the town of Luetzerath, Germany, against the demolition of houses for the expansion of a coal mine. Protesters were occupying the site several weeks ago. With peaceful protests, human chains and harangues they expressed their non-conformity with the controversial decision of the German Government.
