“With the changing times and with all the trends we observe today in terms of artificial intelligence, augmented reality, but also with the challenges we are facing in terms of climate change, we believe that science and scientific research will be even more important” . This was said by Ninell Sobiecka, President and CEO of L’Oréal Italia, on the sidelines of the awards ceremony of the twenty-second edition of the “L’Oréal Italia for Women and Science” award. Born on the initiative of UNESCO and L’Oréal in 1998, “For Women in Science” was the first international award dedicated to women working in the scientific sector. This year, after a rigorous selection, 6 researchers were awarded prizes worth 20 thousand euros which will allow them to carry out a research project. Thanks to the initiative, in recent years 4,100 female researchers in over 110 countries, including Italy, have been supported in their career paths.
