Town house was destroyed in a fierce fire in Kokemäki on the night before Thursday.
The Satakunta rescue service was alerted to the site at around three in the morning. When the rescue service arrived, the suspended ceiling of the approximately 120-square-meter house was already on fire, says the fire marshal on duty Joni Toivo.
The residents were able to escape from the house and were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The family dog died in the fire. Toivo has no information on what kind of injuries the fire caused to people.
At seven in the morning the rescue service was still at the site extinguishing the fires.
“It has been a very violent fire. The flames were hitting the windows and there was a danger of the fire spreading,” says Toivo.
The fire managed to spread to the garage in the same yard. However, the burnt eaves of the garage were soon extinguished, and the fire did not spread further, says Toivo.
According to Toivo, there is no certainty as to the cause of the fire.
