The minister added that Egypt and India will seek to enhance military cooperation between them, especially in the field of defense industries.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi as part of a state visit during which he will meet business leaders.
Sisi will be the guest of honor at India’s Republic Day anniversary on January 26.
Al-Sisi affirmed his country and India’s determination to “elevate their bilateral relations to the stage of strategic partnership and mutual coordination on various issues and topics of interest to both parties.”
Al-Sisi pointed out that “the integration of the capabilities of Egypt and India can establish a solid system capable of facing common challenges and emerging international crises, including the energy and food crises.”
The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Ambassador Bassam Rady, said that a “discussion session” brought together the Egyptian President with the President of India, Draupadi Mormo, where they discussed “issues of common interest, especially the bilateral relations between the two countries.”
