Parliamentary on Tuesday, the constitutional committee ended up voting on its opinion on the so-called “conversion law”. The committee’s statement was approved at the meeting by a vote of 15–2.
On Monday and Tuesday, the committee discussed the government’s exception bill, under which people could be temporarily prevented from applying for international protection at Finland’s borders.
The content of the statement is not yet known.

Diarra and Kontula therefore leave their own differing opinions on the subject.
All the other opposition members of the Constitutional Law Committee from the center and Sdp voted in line with the government parties in the opinion vote. Ojala-Niemelä did not want to comment on the content of the statement before the information conference about it.

None of these 18 legal scholars consider the enactment of a “conversion law” possible. Most Interviewing HS of legal scholars consider the law’s problems from the point of view of international human rights treaties, EU law and the constitution to be so significant that they cannot even be corrected in parliamentary proceedings.
Chairman of the Greens Sofia Virta and the chairman of the Left Alliance Lee Andersson are already earlier have told that he has a negative attitude to the exception law.
Sdp chairman Antti Lindtman and chairman of the parliamentary group Titti Tuppurainen instead, they have been careful not to take a position on the exception law before the Constitutional Law Committee’s opinion is completed. There have also been disagreements in this regard in the Sdp: the party’s vice-chairman Nasima Razmyar commented to HS on Friday that he considers it impossible that the exception law could be approved in the parliament.
