Yesterday, the Dubai Press Club received a student delegation from Damascus University, which included a group of outstanding students from media studies, and within its various disciplines, within the framework of the club’s keenness to build bridges of communication with universities, institutes, bodies and scientific institutions, Arab and international, and to cooperate in the field of exchanging experiences and visits. This will contribute to preparing new generations of Arab media professionals who are able to lead the media development process in the region during the next stage.
Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, Director of the Dubai Press Club, welcomed the visit of the delegation from Damascus University, stressing the club’s endeavor to strengthen cooperation with the academic community, in order to discover ways in which joint efforts can be made to provide the new generations of media professionals with the elements of excellence and distinction at an early age before they enter the The realm of working life. The visiting student delegation was acquainted with the overall activities of the Dubai Press Club and the idea of its establishment, and its efforts at the level of Arab media in general, and the annual agenda of training and education programs for media professionals, especially the youth among them. The visiting students attended a discussion session organized by the Dubai Press Club specifically for this occasion, in which Khadija Al Marzouqi, editor-in-chief of Dubai Post, spoke about the most prominent transformations in the media sector over the past few years.
