The Governments of Colombia and Germany agreed to advance “comprehensive bilateral collaboration on migration, return and mobility” after the visit this week of the German Government's high commissioner for Migration Agreements, Joachim Stamp.
Stamp, along with a delegation of representatives from the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs, Economic Cooperation and Development, the Interior, the Federal Employment Agency and representatives of the German Embassy in Colombia, visited the country from Wednesday to Friday, as indicated the Foreign Ministry in a statement.
The two delegations agreed to create a bilateral working group, which will address actions in the short and medium term such as the establishment of expeditious cooperation mechanisms that include a possible comprehensive migration and mobility agreement, as well as the “definition and discussion of legal aspects” that allow this agreement.

Stamp's visit is part of the joint work of the governments of Colombia and Germany aimed at advancing cooperation towards orderly, safe and regular migration.
Both delegations highlighted the value and role of the Colombian diaspora in Germany, made up mostly of people who have a high educational and professional level, which contributes positively to German society and economy, concluded the Colombian Foreign Ministry.
