The bilateral relations between China and the United Statesconsidered by the Asian giant as “the most important in the world”, were the focus of the meeting held this Thursday in Shanghai between the secretary of the Communist Party of the Chinese megalopolis, Chen Jiningand the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
The relationship has not always been smooth, there have been ups and downs, but in general, it has progressed with historical development and moved forward.
For his part, Blinken praised the evolution of Shanghai as an “economic and commercial center” and highlighted the importance of “direct and continuous engagement” between both nations.
The US Secretary of State noted that “we have an obligation to our people and, indeed, an obligation to the world to manage the relationship between our two countries responsibly.”

The official visit to the Asian country, which will last until next Friday, takes place after the US Senate approved a bill that will force the Chinese company ByteDance to sell TikTok within nine months if it does not want the platform be banned in the United States.
In March, China criticized the “crackdown” against the video app TikTok by the US for being “an intimidating tactic” that will end up “turning against” the North American country.
Blinken arrived in Shanghai this Wednesday to meet with local officials and businessmen before traveling to Beijing on Friday.
