Fighter Khamzat Chimaev withdrew from his fight with Robert Whittaker in the UFC
Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Khamzat Chimaev, representing the United Arab Emirates (UAE), withdrew from his fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) with Australian Robert Whittaker. Insider Benny P reports this on social networks X.
The reasons for Chimaev’s refusal to fight are not stated. According to the source, the French fighter Nassurdin Imavov can replace him. Also named as a possible opponent for Whittaker is Russian Ikram Aliskerov.
The fight was supposed to headline the UFC Fight Night tournament, which will take place on June 22. In the second most important match of the event, Russians Sergei Pavlovich and Alexander Volkov will meet.
In total, the 30-year-old Chimaev spent 13 fights in his professional career without suffering a single defeat. Previously, the athlete played for Sweden, and now represents the UAE and the Grozny Akhmat team. Whittaker has 25 wins in 32 fights.
