The drop in temperatures during the autumn months sometimes makes it difficult to do the laundry. Cloudy days and precipitation slow down the process and even leave clothing smelling musty. On this type of day, the dryer is usually, for those who have it at home, the quick solution. However, those who do not have this possibility or prefer to reduce their consumption to avoid extra costs on the electricity bill, can resort to different practices to hang inside the home.
In addition to the well-known methods, such as selecting a faster and faster spin cycle in the washing machine, there are other less well-known methods aimed at getting the most out of the clothesline. With this type of advice, the lines can hold a greater number of clothes, which is appreciated on less sunny days, when you have to bring the clothesline inside the house.
Trick to optimize space
The Instagram account @remediosencasa, which has more than two million followers, has shared a trick to save space. To do this, change the traditional method of placing clothes on the stall. Specifically, go from folding the clothes on the ropes to hanging them vertically with clothespins. Now, the strategy consists of positioning the garments perpendicular to the direction of the metal bars, thus forming a kind of visual cross. In this way, it is possible to stack substantially more clothes.
The viral video, created by @meuapartamento701 and republished by the aforementioned account, shows how with the traditional method he only managed to put six shirts on the folding wing of the clothesline. Next, she puts the new technique to the test, which turns out to be quite successful: the young woman manages to fit up to nine tops in the same space.
However, the reaction of some users in the comments section has meant that the idea has to be reconsidered, since depending on the type of fabric, the darts can leave marks or slightly deform the seams. As a solution, Virna commented that it is better to put clothes on hangers and hang them on the clothesline. «It saves you a lot of space and is quite stretched. You almost don’t even need to iron,” said the user, who allocates the empty spaces in between for underwear.

Wrinkle-free clothes
This last proposal can be a good remedy on days when the absence of the sun complicates the drying process. Even so, if the clothes end up having folds, the liquid product with a spray that promises to leave the clothes softer and smoother, becomes a great ally for everyday use.
You just have to spray this spray, which can be purchased in almost any supermarket under a name similar to ‘Easy Ironing’, all over the fabric from about 20 centimeters away. Subsequently, you have to smooth the surface with your hand. As you spread the fabric with your fingers, the wrinkles will disappear. For a more optimal result, you can use the iron after spraying the garment.
