There are still three years to go before the highly anticipated Formula 1 debut of theAudi but the house of the Rings has already found a way to get people talking, and a lot, about itself in these months that have followed the official landing in the Circus. The partnership with Sauber and the clear participation that the historic German brand is already exercising in the operations of the Hinwil work group – witnessed by the official statement in which Audi called itself “very satisfied” of the engagement of Andreas Seidl as CEO Sauber – are the confirmation of how much everyone in Ingolstadt intends to be ready for their debut.
An interesting roadmap has already been presented which envisages the victory of a Grand Prix three years after its debut. Meanwhile, interviewed by the Spanish site AS, Adam Baker (CEO of Audi Formula Racing) has gone even further, coming to hypothesize for Audi a role as engine supplier also for other teams on the grid, as already usually happens for Ferrari and Mercedes.
“According to the rules, the FIA could ask us to supply the engines [ad altri team] Baker recalled. if that were to happen, we would certainly be ready“. A signal of openness which however does not change the current priorities of the house: “We are not currently looking for a customer team – clarified the manager born in Australia and who became a German citizen in 2018 – it’s too early to do that. We will focus on our program as a factory team“.
