With the improvement in the reservoirs of the Paraná River basin, the Tietê-Paraná waterway will resume operations next Tuesday, after the National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA) and the National Electric System Operator (ONS) indicate that, based on your forecasts for the month, it will be possible to partially release the navigation.
The decision was taken on Monday, the 7th, when an operation was agreed to use the outflow waves of the Nova Avanhandava reservoir, in the Tietê basin. According to the São Paulo waterway department, navigability will occur gradually, with an initial draft of 2.40 meters.
The operation is expected to reach its full form by the end of March. The waterway activities had been paralyzed since last year, due to the critical condition of the rivers in the Southeast, due to the water crisis.
