The His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan International Racing Festival for Purebred Arabian Horses continues its activities, as the ancient Capinelli Racecourse in the Italian capital, Rome, hosts, on Sunday afternoon, the events of the Al Wathba Stallions Cup race, as part of the activities of the 16th edition of the festival.
The Al Wathba Stallions races are held with the support and encouragement of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Presidential Cabinet, in line with the festival’s strategy, with the aim of supporting owners and breeders in most countries of the world and motivating them to increase interest in Arabian horses.
The Al Wathba Stallions Cup race, over a distance of 1,700 meters, at the Italian Capinelli Racecourse, is dedicated to purebred Arabian horses at the age of only three years, and its prizes amount to 8,800 euros, and the race is expected to be full of excitement and equality.
Seven horses are participating in the race, led by the fillies “Farah HCM,” led by Manuel Porco, and “Fly Desert,” led by Francesco Dettori, both of which are owned by Valentisi Dogs Horses, and under the supervision of trainer Stefano Mitini.
Owner Giaccioli Santini Guglielmo, under the supervision of trainer Camellia Trapassi, drives the filly “Farah Dagobio” led by Andrea Felli, while the filly “Vesproi” is represented by owner Claudia Di Caprella, supervised by Masmilano Nardozzi, and led by the jockey Germano Marcelli.
There is the filly “Fontana Una” by its owner and trainer, Livio Bigioni, and driven by Giuli Gingui, the filly “Forelig” by Costano Salares, led by Riccardo Iacobini, and the filly “Kingdom” under the supervision of Christian Metini and driven by Giuseppe Arekovic.
The festival includes races for the crown jewel of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed Cup, the Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Cup, the Al Wathba “Stallions” Cup, and the World Forum for Purebred Arabian Horse Racing.
The first races of the festival began last January, with new races being added this season in 2024, and 150 local and international races will be organized around the world, including races from the categories classified as the first category and the second and third categories.
