Chelsea are looking for new owners after Russian businessman Roman Abramovich said he would sell the club, amid growing calls for sanctions against the famous billionaire after the Russian attack on Ukraine.
Asked if he had any problem staying with Chelsea, Tuchel told reporters on Friday: “No, quite the opposite.”
“I have said many times that I love working in the Premier League and I love being in England… Chelsea, in my opinion, is a perfect fit for me. I love being here and I love everything about the club.”
He added: “I hope it continues. There is now a state of uncertainty, but isn’t it always like this in football? I am used to living with it on different levels. But I am optimistic and hope that things will improve and end well.”
The German coach said that the change of ownership of the club may affect the club’s negotiations to renew the contracts of the current players. He added that Chelsea had not yet discussed its plans for the summer transfer window.
“We can’t help with that. That’s it. But it may have a positive effect on the negotiations or it may have a negative effect. We cannot predict.”
“I think Chelsea is a strong club and will remain a strong club. Our owner decided to sell the club, but he is selling a strong and organized club at the highest level.”
Chelsea is third in the league with 50 points from 25 games, 16 points behind leaders Manchester City, and has two more games left.
