The pilgrims spend the night in the holy city of Mina after they threw the Great Jamarat of Aqaba and performed the Tawaf Al-Ifadah in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on the Day of Sacrifice.
About a million pilgrims from different countries of the world flocked this morning, Saturday, to the holy site of Mina on the first day of Eid al-Adha, after spending the night in the holy site of Muzdalifah.
The health, ambulance and civil defense services were deployed, along with the security forces, to organize the movement of pilgrims in the squares of the Jamarat Bridge.
The pilgrims expressed their happiness at being able to perform the Hajj after two years in which the number of pilgrims was limited to several thousand amid severe restrictions due to the Corona pandemic.
“This is the first time I’ve performed Hajj,” said a Palestinian woman. “My feelings are very beautiful when I conclude the rituals of Hajj. The Hajj was comfortable.”
And she adds, “All matters were easy, whether in the process of tawwij or in stoning the Jamarat, and in circumambulation and quest.”
The Jamarat Bridge was built to ease congestion after stampedes occurred in previous years.
Pilgrims will return to the Jamarat Bridge over the next two days before performing the farewell circumambulation at the Great Mosque of Mecca at the conclusion of the Hajj rituals.
Despite the happiness of the pilgrims with the blessing of Hajj and the imminence of their return to their homelands, others feel deeply affected by that. The Egyptian pilgrim Nabil says, “I am very sad with the end of the Hajj rituals. The days I spent here are not easily repeated… I will miss seeing the Kaaba and praying in the Haram a lot.”
