In a new and fourth edition, from November 15 to 20, AcceCine will take placea film festival that allows people with visual and hearing disabilities to enjoy the seventh art through the exhibition of materials that have been adapted to accessible versions.
Through the audio description and descriptive subtitling system, the organizers will provide cinematographic products that will be presented in the various screenings agreed at these meetings.
The initiative will have training activities in cinema and audiovisuals; talks, cultural spaces, film screenings, master-classes, among others. For this edition, Lima, Ayacucho, Piura, Cañete, Huancayo, Cusco, Puno and Pasco are the chosen venues.
Likewise, it was announced that the face-to-face training workshop “Deaf culture week: creation of films in Peruvian sign language” will be held, aimed at the deaf community, at the premises of the Cultural Center of Spain.
In addition, attendees have been invited to a special “Inclusive Children’s Cinema” function, aimed at students from special basic education centers and public educational institutions.
Elizabeth Campos, co-director of AcceCine, indicated that this action seeks to arouse the interest of institutions and the general public in accessibility as a form and technological element that produces democratization and access to culture for all citizens.
