Thus, the center deals with reports and requests related to monitoring public health pests and their spread in all areas of Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Ahmed Al Khazraji, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, said: “The Abu Dhabi Public Health Center is keen to preserve the quality of life of community members in Abu Dhabi and the health of the community and ensure their safety and well-being, by providing pest and disease vector control services in accordance with the best international standards and practices, through teams.” Specialized and expert in using advanced equipment and techniques to monitor and control public health pests and disease vectors, based on the center’s pivotal role in pest control, preventing the spread of infectious diseases, and preserving public health.”
The center will work to provide and deliver programs to develop and qualify specialists in the field of pest control in cooperation with strategic partners, which will enhance their capabilities and efficiency. In addition to strengthening the scientific research system related to the diagnosis and classification of disease vectors, developing optimal control methods through research, laboratory, and field experiments, evaluating the biological efficiency of control materials and pesticides, and developing centers for transferring scientific research knowledge to technicians and the public.
The center also plans to launch community campaigns that enhance public awareness of the importance of controlling public health pests, and emphasize its essential role in taking the necessary preventive measures that effectively contribute to reducing the proliferation of disease vectors and other pests.
Dr. Farida Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Infectious Diseases Sector at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, said: “The Abu Dhabi Public Health Center will be responsible for dealing with reports received regarding the proliferation and spread of public health pests in open areas, in addition to supervising the permits for practicing the profession for all activities related to combating diseases.” Public health pests in the emirate.
