G7 draws attention to Venezuela
The inclusion of the Venezuelan presidential elections in the declaration of the G7 Summit in Italy was somewhat surprising. Leaders of the world’s richest democracies expressed concern about the rights of the opposition within the electoral process and the withdrawal of the invitation to a European observation mission. Obviously, the Maduro regime reacted with intemperate boxes.

Exchange of visits between Boluarte and Xi
In the midst of the corruption scandals that plague it, Peruvian President, Dina Boluarte, received permission from Congress to travel to China on June 23 to meet with President Xi Jinping. He, in turn, will visit Peru in November to participate in the summit of leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (Apec) and the inauguration of the port of Chancay, built by a consortium from his country.

50 euros per month for each adopted dog
Given the proliferation of stray dogs, The Government of Pristina, capital of Kosovo, will pay 50 euros per month to citizens who adopt them, a subsidy that will be extended over time as long as the animal continues to be cared for. The mayor of the city had already made the same approach some time ago without receiving much response, but it seems that this time the population has been more aware of the problem.

Mosquito illnesses are increasing in Europe
An example that climate change is having concrete impacts on people’s lives is the increase in cases of dengue and other diseases considered tropical and transmitted by invasive mosquitoes in Europe. In 2022, 71 cases of indigenous dengue were recorded in patients who had no travel history, and in 2023, 130. Even in countries far to the north, such as Iceland and Norway, they are already being registered.
