A Russian tourist visited Kamchatka and climbed the Plosky Tolbachik volcano. She shared her impressions with “Tinkoff Magazine”.
A traveler named Olga admitted that at first it was easy to climb, but the higher the group climbed, the worse she felt. According to the tourist, she felt dizzy, her heart was beating quickly, she felt shortness of breath and weakness. The guide explained to the Russian woman that this is how altitude sickness manifests itself.
“I walked as if I had weights on my legs, I had no strength at all. We slowed down a lot, the guide waited patiently. My friend really encouraged me, and this gave me determination to move on. The last 200 meters to the top were the hardest in my life, I was literally crawling on all fours,” Olga described the climb to the volcano with these phrases.

However, when the tourist was at the top, she immediately forgot about pain, fatigue and exhaustion. “All that was left were screams of delight and a feeling of happiness. An amazing picture opened up in front of me: steam was coming from a huge crater and there was a waft of warmth. One could only guess how deep the vent goes. This thought was breathtaking,” the reviewer admired.
The Russian woman added that the ascent took her group five hours. At the same time, the descent was easy, without any hindrances.
Earlier, another Russian tourist visited Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and was disappointed with this city. According to her, it is “expensive, dirty and there is nothing to do.”
