Kingspan was one of the manufacturers of insulation used in the tower block, and the company’s possible involvement in a disaster that claimed 72 lives is still being investigated.
An association of survivors of the fire and relatives of the victims criticized Mercedes for the agreement, and also the British Minister Michael Grove demanded that Mercedes reconsider the agreement.
The Kingspan logo, which denies the allegations, was featured on the beak of Mercedes cars at last weekend’s Saudi gp, but sponsorship ran out for a short time.
“Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 and Kingspan have jointly decided to end their partnership,” Mercedes said.
