Duel between Republican and Democrat to be hosted by “ABC News”; US Vice President says she is “looking forward to it”
The North American broadcaster ABC News confirmed this Thursday (8.Aug.2024) that the 1st debate between former President Donald Trump (Republican Party) and Vice President Kamala Harris (Democratic Party) will be held on September 10th.
On X (formerly Twitter), Kamala said she was looking forward to the debate against the Republican. Trump, however, did not comment on the matter.
The confrontation will be important for both parties to try to attract American voters who are still undecided.
The Republican campaign had previously said there would be no debate until Kamala was officially named the Democratic candidate for the White House. The vice president will be officially chosen at the conventions, which will be held from August 19 to 21.
The debate will be the 2nd of Donald Trump’s campaign. In June, the former president participated in a confrontation against President Joe Biden (Democratic Party) broadcast and organized by CNN.
The duel was marked by the Democrat’s poor performanceincreasing pressure for his withdrawal from the race, which was announced at the end of July.
