The “MENA Cup” International Futsal Championship for juniors under 12 and 10 years old will begin tomorrow evening, Friday, which is held with the support of the Dubai Sports Council in the indoor hall of Al Wasl Club, and aims to enhance efforts to attract and develop sports talent.
24 teams from inside and outside the country are participating in the tournament, including 12 teams in the U-12 category and 12 U-10 teams. Each category is divided into two groups, and the best two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals, and the winning team qualifies for the U-10 final round. Years to play in the European Futsal Cup, which will be held in Strasbourg, France, next January, in which the largest European teams such as Arsenal, Juventus, Olympique Lyonnais, Benfica, and many major teams participate.
The most prominent teams participating in the tournament are Ajax Amsterdam Academy in Dubai, Al Seeb Club Academy from Oman, Bahrain Futsal Academy, Manchester City Academy Dubai, Manchester City Abu Dhabi, Azul Club, Dubai Irish Football Club, Empire Club, Gulf Academy, and GoPro Sports Academy. , Reds Academy, Goga Bonito, and others.
The first day’s matches will start from 3 pm to 8 pm for the U-10 category, while the second day’s matches will be held from 9 am to 3 pm for the U-12 category.
