Mexico City.– If the Electoral Court does not modify the scenario, the INE predicts that Morena, PVEM and PT would have 83 of 128 senators, so they would need only two opposition legislators to be a qualified majority.
While in the Chamber of Deputies it would have the necessary votes for constitutional reforms, since it is confirmed that the 4T will arrive with 364 of the 500 deputies, indicates the report delivered to electoral counselors.
With this new composition, as of September 1, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his successor, Claudia Sheinbaum, seek to approve the reform of the Judiciary.
In a first calculation, the INE had determined to remove 21 candidates from the PVEM and PT, due to “effective affiliation”, that is, standard bearers who are Morenistas registered on the list of allies, so it was estimated that the official party would have 257.
However, after a new review and in order not to be overrepresented, this political institute remained at 236, of which 161 were majority and 75 were multi-member.
For the first time and after decades of being in fourth or sixth position, the PVEM is shaping up to be the second force in the Chamber of Deputies with 77 legislators, 57 with a majority and 20 multi-member.
While the PT would take 38 majority deputies and 13 multi-member deputies.
In contrast, the PAN would reach 72 seats, 32 of them majority and 40 proportional representation; and the PRI, 9 and 26, respectively.
Citizen Movement with only one deputation won at the polls, would take 26 multi-member legislators.
Although the PRD could lose registration, it will have a deputation by winning a district in the Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office.
The independent deputations are reactivated: in district 9, with headquarters in Uruapan, Michoacán, Guadalupe Mendoza beat the 4T coalition by 2,089 votes.
According to the document circulating among councilors, the 4T would lack 2 seats in the Senate to achieve the 85 it needs for a qualified majority.
Morena would have 46 majority and first minority seats, and 14 multi-member seats.
The second force would be the PAN with 22 senators, 16 for majority and minority and 6 for proportional representation; and the PRI 16, 14 and 4, respectively.
The PVEM would be the fourth position in the upper house with 14 senators, 11 majority and minority and three multi-member.
While their PT allies would reach 9, 7 by votes at the polls, and 2 proportional.
Movimiento Ciudadano won only two senatorial seats, and will have three multi-member seats.
The PRD remains with its two standard bearers that it won on June 2 in Michoacán.
The figures vary from the projection made by the federal government on June 3.
However, the General Council of the INE has until August 23 to approve the final list, after the regional chambers of the Court, and if applicable the Superior Chamber, resolve 619 challenges that were presented to challenge the election to Congress. .
