King Charles had moments where he seemed “distracted” during last Saturday’s Trooping the Color ceremony. Body language expert Darren Stanton, who analyzed the king’s movements during the event and concluded that, although the monarch appeared joyful, he also showed some signs of somberness.
“Charles showed an attitude of joy, with genuine smiles and moments of laughter when he could relax a little more. He was undoubtedly happy to be reunited and supported by his family, but I also sensed some dark signals from him – he the expert stated – He was deep in thought and seemed rather distracted from time to time, which is understandable given the great importance that events such as these had for his late mother, Queen Elizabeth.”
Stanton praised Queen Camillasaying she didn’t seem “distracted like Charles” but appeared “comfortable” and was “in control of her movements. Camilla presented herself as a stoic and powerful figure. I get the feeling she was there to pave the way for Charles when he felt nervous. There were signs from Camilla that he exercised strong dominance, in particular by holding himself upright with his arms at his sides and standing with his head held high.”
