In Ukraine, a winter electricity shortage of up to 35 percent was allowed
In the coming winter, the electricity shortage in Ukraine could reach up to 35 percent, said Sergei Kovalenko, general director of the Ukrainian energy company YASNO, writes RIA News with reference to the broadcast of the “Public” TV channel.
He admitted that light could be provided for a maximum of six hours a day. According to the head, “the winter peak is quite large.” “If generation plus import opportunities remain at the same level as they are, then the deficit will reach 35 percent,” he warned.
Kovalenko called for preparations for a significant electricity shortage.
Earlier, the head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudrytsky, said that in the next month and a half the situation in the Ukrainian energy system will be much more complicated than today.
