Russian President Putin dismissed the first deputy head of the Ministry of Defense Tsalikov
Russian President Vladimir Putin relieved Ruslan Tsalikov of his post as first deputy of the Ministry of Defense. The decree of the head of state was published on official Internet portal of legal information.
Tsalikov was the deputy of the former head of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu for more than 20 years.
Together with Tsalikov, Deputy Heads of the Ministry of Defense Nikolai Pankov and Tatyana Shevtsova lost their positions.

In turn, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported in Telegram about the meeting of Tsalikov, Pankov and Shvetsova with the new head of the ministry Andrei Belousov. The latter thanked the retiring officials for their many years of work and wished them success in their future activities.
Ruslan Tsalikov worked in the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations from 2000 to 2012 under the direct leadership of Shoigu. In 2012, he was vice-governor of the Moscow region during the period when the region was headed by Shoigu. In the same year, Tsalikov became Shoigu’s deputy, who took the post of head of the Ministry of Defense, and since 2015 – first deputy.
Earlier, the Russian President fired another long-time deputy of Shoigu, Yuri Sadovenko, from the Ministry of Defense. The corresponding decree of the head of state came into force on May 20. Sadovenko also worked with Shoigu in the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and the administration of the Moscow region.
